Almost Over

The Holidayas have nearly come and gone. I trust that you and yours had a merry Christmas and are looking forward to the start of a new year shortly.
We had a very blessed Christmas. The time was spent with my wife's family in WA State. We are currently in OR spending time with my family and looking forward to heading back home for all of the New Years festivities. Our vacations are wrapping up. It has been refreshing to just do nothing for the past week. Although that has rarely been the case...Kaylee always has something that she needs me to do.
We are embarking on College Bowl season...Oregon is already out so I probably won't pay much attention other than to the National Championship game. NFL playoffs are just around the corner which means it is nearly Super Bowl time. My my my where has all the time gone.
We are looking forward to what God has planned for all of us in 2007. May it be a year full of excitement and opportunity as God leads.
I will get more information out regarding the Holidays when I return home. Until then have a blessed New Years.

Six Days Until Christmas

Another week has come and gone. We survived the storm of the century on Thursday night. The 70 MPH winds blew but my house somehow remained upright. Over one million homes in Puget Sound were without power but somehow my hood stayed bright. We never lost power throughout that weekend. However, we did have a full house since no one else had power. My parents came into town for a short visit on Friday...we spent Friday night with them and ate breakfast Saturday morning before hitting the road to eastern Washington where I was preaching a two day youth event.
We had a wonderful weekend with the Joel Hart Family they opened their home and pulpit to us and I pray that somehow we were as much of a blessing to them and their church as they were to us. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and every conversation was ministry (some of you will understand that). I spoke to about 50 youth on Saturday night...30 of them were un-saved and it was awesome to see the sincerity of all when it came time to pray. Sunday we had incredible church I spoke about "Spiritual Utterance" and the word was confirmed with signs following. The alter was full and lives were visibly being changed. To God be the glory.
I am only working two days this week then will begin a nice long Christmas vacation ( hopefully not National Lampoon style). To all our family and friends, to all the pastors and churches who have been so gracious to allow us to come and minster in 2006 we say Thank you, God bless you and we pray that 2007 holds unprecented manifestations of apsotolic ministry in your church and homes.

Merry Christmas From The Johnstones

Productive Weekend

Greeting all interested parties. I just finished a very productive weekend. It was rather long but then again short at the same time. PI weekends are long because I am in class from the moment I get off work Friday until late Saturday, but then at the same time when PI is over the weekend is over and Sunday is here which is filled with church.
We had a great Sunday...Missionary Nix from South America was visiting. We had a family trip to Scrooge The Musical which is absolutely amazing. Kaylee got lots of Christmas shopping completed and we are looking forward to the Holidays.
It looks as though my role at Signal Electric could be changing...more info on this as it becomes public info!

God bless you everyone throughout this Holiday Season

Nice Long Post...Promise for Consistency

I don't know how long its has been since I sat down to write information in this blog. Several times I have sat down to write and have been distracted or just didn't know what to say. So here I am today trying it again.
It has been an eventful past few weeks. All of my family (parents and sisters) were in town for the Thanksgiving Holiday. We were blessed to have all of mine and my wife's family together in the same house for the holiday. We spent the remainder of that weekend in Yakima enjoying snow and just chilling out.
After the holiday it was back to work. Kaylee just got a promotion on her current job. She is now a real banker. I am super proud of her. I celebrated one year with my new company Signal Electric Inc. WE have had a record year and things are going incredible. We are looking forward to the holidays as both Kay and I have vacation time around Christmas and New Years.
We will be in WA state for Christmas and in OR for New Years. We will also be ministering in Wapato, WA the weekend of the 16th and the New life Christmas Banquet is on the 15th. December is proving to be a busy month.

I am running out of things to write about, I will get back to posting weekly as I was before. All that time off during the holiday should help.

For All Those Irritated With My Lack of Posting...

Two or three weeks have passed since I last posted any new information, so I will try to make this juicy!
The past few weeks have been very eventful to say the least. As most of you who read this know that I am a dual career person. I work full-time in the electrical construction industry and also am very involved on the pastoral staff at my local church www.newlife-apostolic.com along with preaching engagements that can take me across town, the state or country. So the mixture of all those makes for a very busy life. I still find time everyday to spend time with my beautiful wife who is the one who keeps me going day in and day out.
Last weekend was very eventful. I t was a P.I. weekend...PI is the Bible School which are church is hosting a sattelite campus for in WA state. This has been a gret endeavor so far and we are excited to see what more God is going to accomplish through all of this. That same weekend my friend Eli and his wife from OR were up visiting and we were able to spend the majority of the weekend with them in our home. I always enjoy getting together with Eli and discussing all the outstanding issues in the organization and our districts. There are even a few debates from the Word of God thrown in every few minutes. We had a wonderful time with them.
That same weekend our family had been going through some things and so we spent Sat evening together just hangin out and being goofy.

Congratulations to my friend Ted Tolstad, he just assumed his first pastorate in Elsey, MO (at least I think that is the town).

This weekend was very eventful as well. It began with a day off on Friday. I decided to spend the day cleaning up and doing yard work around the house. Friday night I took a road trip down to Vancouver for the WA district Prayer Summit. Rev BJ Wilmoth was the speaker and we had a great time.
Saturday I finished doing my yard work and then Saturday night I completed my yearly trip to a hanuted house or corn maze. This year I did the "Haunted Woods" hosted by Maris Farms in Bonney Lake, WA. Can't say it is as good as the Corn Maze which I generally attend down in Eugene, OR but it was fun in the least.

I finished out the weekend just relaxing. We had a great church yesterday as always.

I am peparing for a trip down to OR for a section 1 youth rally (Friday Nov. 10 @ 7:30 p.m.). We are looking forward to what God will do in that night. If you are reading this young or old from section 1, please do everything you can to be in attendance that night. I truly believe that God has something special in store for your section. Come expecting God to do great things and lets not just make it another Youth Rally! We need a manifestation of Apostolic ministry and power!!!!!!!

God Bless
NJ

Ducks, Cowboys, General Conference and Seahawks

Ducks are going to the National Championship, Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl, General Conference was great, and Seattle fans are still wiping tears after their thrashing received by "DA Bears"!!!How is that for an opening statement. I hope to expound on all of those thoughts.

Saturday was again another one of those days (as I have alreay stated) when it was great to be a Duck fan. I have to say it was about mid-way though the first half before I was near my sattelite radio www.xmradio.com to see that OR was thrashing ASU 21-3. It went downhill from there and by the time the second half started I found myself in front of a TV to see the remainder of the thrashing.
Everyone of my teams were involved in blowouts this weekend. Sunday the Cowboys got off to a slow start but ended up blowing out rookie Vince Young and his Titans. I like Vince Young a lot I think he is a first class guy and it is too bad he is being thrown into the position of starter this early in his career...(keep your eye on Vince and Matt Lienhart who played each other in the National Championship last year and will be both starting for their respective teams this sunday). It was good to see T.O. haul in a few long passes from Bledsoe but the man of the hour in Big D is TERRY GLENN!!!! Because of double coverage on T.O. Terry is now s wide open as your Momma's kitchen.

I really enjoyed the Seahawks getting spanked last night. Let me explain because I already know there are about 5 people who will read this and immediately their blood will begin to boil. After the Super Bowl last year all the Seahawks could do was complain about how they has been cheated by the officials and they were the real National Champions. Well they had a chance to prove that this year and they have yet to put some money where their mouth is and prove to the world that they were the better team. They got what a team who spends more time complaining in lieu of playing deserves! Way to go Bears...something inside of me wants them to go all the way.

General Conference from what I hear was incredible (Kim and Rachel said it was "Off da chain" quote end quote) but then again...they weren't in any of the services! So why did I ask them? Who said conference was about church...I garuntee half those attendees this year didn't give a rip who was preaching the commercial filled services they just wanted to cast a vote for a resolution that never even made it to the conference.
This brings me to my second point concerning GC...One more year before I will open my mouth to speak anyhting regarding my postion of resolution 6.

Until 2007 may the conservatives dream of a TV free organization, the liberals of a TV in every room of their house and the rest of us that everyne would just get along!

Love to you all

Great Day To Be A Duck Fan

WOW WOW WOW is all I can say. Saturday was one of those days that made you proud to be a Duck fan. I can think of a few other great moments...the Colorado Buffalo thrashing that took place in the Fiesta Bowl a few years ago and Michigan's visit to Autzen just two short years later! These were all great days to be a duck. None made me as proud as Saturday though. I have not seen a QB at Oregon operate an offense with the poise that I saw Dennis Dixon demonstrate on Saturday. In spite of the fact he threw two picks and two crucial points in the game he never gave up or lost his touch when it was time to orchestrate a comeback win scoring 14 un-answered points in less thatn 20 seconds! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! All of you reading this who have a Heisman vote...better scratch Brady Quinn...make room ESPN for Mr. Dixon!

GO DUCKS!!!!

It Has Been A While

Almost two weeks since my last post. My apologies to my faithful readers and all others who don't give a rip. I am not quite as faithful as my friend Eli. He is the ultimate blogger. Someday I will be as faithful as he.
It has been a busy couple of weeks. A Night Of Praise was a huge success...hundreds of people showed for that event. The presence of God was there and it was definitely an aptmosphere of worship and praise. After that I just kicked back for the whole weekend. I think I watched college football the entire day.
We are now in preparation for Purpose Institute which starts tomorrow. I am teaching a class in that college study "Into to the Word of GOd." I am really looking forward to these classes. If you live in Washington State and have yet to register and desire to attend PI please do so immediately!
I have promised a millioin times that I would put pics of our new home up as soon as I got them. Well I got home early the other day and ran outsie with my camera and took some pics.
God has really blessed. This is a brand new custom built home. Three bedroom, two and a half bath 2,000 sf home. Thank you again to all of those who have helped us move.
I will get more pics of the back and interior as soon as my wife will allow. Enjoy the pics, and I promise to post more often as fall and winter arrive.

Blessings...

Miscelaneous Thoughts for the Day

It is Monday...as the commercials have said lately "Hold on...you're one Monday closer to Monday Night Football." Fall is definitely here. It seems like just yesterday that summer was almost here and I had these great aspirations of things that I wanted to accomplish this summer but now I am loking back and shockingly very few of those things were accomplished. I love fall...fall means that college gameday is back on ESPN it also means that my Saturdays will be spent wathcing football and my sundays watching saturday's highlight reels. I have a renewed interest int he NFL this year. I had lost interest over the past 5 - 7 years. I started my own fantasy football league. We just drafted this morning. I have a dream team of players and hopefully someone will pull through for me.
I have names like Eli Manning, Steven Jackson, Shaun Alexander, Willy Parker, Julius Jones, Hines Ward and Donovann McNabb just to name a few.
Thank God this week will dead end into a 3-day weekend. I need the rest that comes with doing nothing!
I am gogin to do my best tp update this blog more often in the coming months...so that everyone can keep up with what is goign on in the life of someone you really don't know or care about! :-)

The Move

If you are reading this and you hear me within the next two years even breathe a word about moving please kick me in the head as hard as you can. I think that would be less painless than moving.
I spent Thursday through Sunday morning moving, then went off to church Sunday afternoon and passed out for the rest of the evening shortly after having some dinner Sunday evening. I think it will take me a month to recover from all of that.
However, I am excited to be in our new home. I stumbled around for an hour this morning trying to remeber which box I stashed my tooth brush in and what box my wife hid all my socks in. It will probably take us another month or two of unpacking before we are done and settled in.
I also want to with a Happy Birthday (belated) to my mother-in-law and also to my bro-in-law Caleb.

Washington District Youth Camp 2006

I had the privilige of speaking to a group of young people on Wednesday morning at Washington District Youth Camp. What a time we had. The Holy Ghost led me to a portion of scripture in I Samuel 8 reagrding the children of Israel wanting a King like other nations. GOd instructed Samuel to Protest to the people regarding their desire...from that portion of scripture the Lord inspired a message which I preached entitled "It Is Time To Protest". I preached from a burden and young people responded. I challenged them that in the face of adversity, even when you feel like you are the only one standing for what you know is right...keep on fighting. I challenged them to get the spirit of a protester! I had a lot of fun. Thank you WA youth for your response to the word of God and Youth Committee for the opportunity.

I am wrapping up a busy week. We will begin moving into our new home this weekend. I promise to have pics posted by Monday.
Until I get the time to write again...Keep fighting for what you know to be truth

Another Weekend...Come and Gone

WOW...What a weekend. It all started Friday when I took a train ride to OR to hook up with the rest of my family. My parents, wife and sisters were all there on Thursday for Oregon Camp Meeting.
I hooked up with everyone on Friday afternoon and had a great time Friday night. I had the privilige of connecting once again with Jake Palma from Merced, CA. We originally met when he played with the band Finding Jerimiah. It was good to see old friends, although I missed getting to see my friend Eli andhis wife.
Once we go back to my parents house on Sat it was a wild weekend...We mainly just hung out, but there were plenty of laughs to go around.
Not sure my Mom knew what we were laughing about most of the time, but sometimes it was about things that she was saying (parents sometimes say things that are so funny, but don't know it).
Along with Rachel's "Sometimes I" one liners...we sat around and talked then watched a movie or two. What a weekend.

They (my parents Kim and Rachel) are all coming to my house this weekend.
I wil also be busy over the next month or so with moving into our new home which I have yet to post pictures of.

Already Mid-Week?

Man it seem slike just yesterday that I planned to post something on Saturday. We had a wonderful meeting on Fri night in Kirkland. The Tingleys were great host and put on a wonderful service (the sweet tea and nachos afterward were the best). God moved a gret way and the young people responded to the word.
It seemed as though everyone is attendance came with an expectancy in their spirits.

The weekend was not long enough. I had a good one though. My wife and I who rarely get to see each other during teh week were able to be together the entire weekend with no interuptions.

It appears as though we may have found a home this weekend. I will post some pics of it in a seperate post.

Thank God the week is almost over...

Oh yeah for all of you in WA state check out www.anightofpraise.com

Arthur W. Pink

What an amazing guy...

I am currently reading his book Elijah.

I just purchased Elisha, His Life and Miracles.

I spent most of last year reading Gleanings in Exodus. This book inspired me to read more of his works and also influenced several messages that I preached throughout the year.

Good stuff in most of his books...would suggest to any preacher looking for reading material.

REMIX

I will be speaking to a group of young people tomorrow night at a Youth Rally in Kirkland, WA. For all of you in western Washington State...Come out and support the Tingleys!!! (sp) There are great people, and we are going to have a good time.

Will post a little about this service later.

Thanks to Eli

I now have a site meter...

I don't think blogger updates their counter very often. This got frustrating to me so I decided to find my own. That is where Eli came in.

Thanks again man.

A pic of me at a recent Grad party

4th of July

Pheeww!
I feel like I need a vacation after that 4th of July Celebration. We had a whoppin party with lots of fireworks and food.
I had a thought while doing it though. We were out there celebrating our indepnedence, but at the same time were being told what we could do to celebrate and how long we could celebrate. I figured I had better celebrate freedom while I still had some so we lit off a few more illegal bottle rockets!
Caleb and Kraiger would not stop lighting and throwing bees at each other...Kraiger ended up getting burned on the head before the night was over. LOL
Most excitement all night was this Texas Shooting Star fountain that I decided to set off on top of another firework. Well needless to say, it fell off about half way through the display and starting shooting huge balls of fire at every house in the cul-de-sac! It just so happned that Kraiger was a few feet away, and started to run for his life, but everytime it went off it spun in a different direction and was litterally chasing him. No one knew which direction to dive! One of the balls shot off and rolled the full length of the neighbors Cadilac CTS and went right into the garage! I was laying on the ground laughing so hard a could get up to go put any of the little fires out.

I want to wish a Happy Birthday to my Sister Kim! I think she is a big whopping 23!!!! Not sure though so don't quote me on that.

New Venture in Life

Okay so I have been inspired lately to start a blog. I am not quite sure the reason for this maybe I simply feel the need to share my life. Or maybe I just need somewhere to vent after commuting in Seattle traffic.
It should be interesting what ends up getting postred on here.

I am sure there is more to come
